Run First Aid to fix WD My Passport for Mac not mounting error Step 1: Go to /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility/, then click Continue. Step 2: In the sidebar, select the not mounting WD My Passport for. Working perfectly until upgraded to Catalina (now 10.15.4) Now will not mount/repair etc. Still spinning/ lights on. Have seen earlier posts and have tried them all. Is this a mac problem or a WD one.

Drive Partition and Format - El Capitan or Later
- Open Disk Utility in the Utilities' folder.
- After Disk Utility loads select the drive (out-dented entry with 1TB WD Passport...) from the side list.
- Click on the Erase tab in the Disk Utility toolbar. A panel should drop down.
- In the drop down panel set the partition scheme to GUID. Set the Format type to APFS (SSDs only) or Mac OS Extended (Journaled.)
- Click on the Apply button and click on the Done button when it is activated.
- Quit Disk Utility.

I'm not sure what happened. I was using it to back up an older drive with what's on my WD. The batter died on my Macbook Pro causing the back up to end prematurely. When I restarted the computer, on my older drive would come up. The WD My Passport is missing from the Finder. I can see it in Disk Utility but that's it. No option to repair. I've been doing some research and WD has been having this same issue for some time. I have nearly 1TB of data on this drive that extremely critical and I don't know what to do. Can someone help?
